Solid Edge with synchronous technology (Synchronous Technology) - Integrated 2D/3D CAD-item-system without building a tree from Siemens PLM Software's core product line and the Velocity Series. Solid Edge is built on core Parasolid geometric modeling and is compatible with Microsoft Office.
The system provides capabilities for modeling parts and assemblies creating drawings design data management and has a built-in finite element analysis (FEA).
Also present in the distribution directory for Standard Parts ST4 (also multilingual).

Windows ME Windows 98 Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 are not supported. It is not recommended to run Solid Edge on Server-versions.
Solid Edge will not install on a computer without Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher. You do not need to Internet Explorer was the default browser.

Solid Edge will run on the system a graphics driver that supports Windows XP or Windows Vista or Windows 7. For optimum performance it is recommended to use a professional graphics card designed for use with CAD applications. To work with large assemblies of complex parts we recommend a graphics card with at least 256 MB of memory.

Solid Edge - widely used in industrial system that combines the functions of process control design to the actual functions of the CAD. Solid Edge provides users with scalable solutions for managing design data and collaboration tools. Solid Edge Modeling tools allow you to create different projects - from individual components to assemblies consisting of thousands of components. Solid Edge is used in designing a wide range of products for various industries: machine building aviation shipbuilding oil refining production of consumer goods etc. Among such companies as: Schatti AG Summit Tool Design Alexin plant heavy industrial valves Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant Akvatis and many others.
Specialized applications designed for Solid Edge design: load-bearing structures weldments piping (module XpresRoute) wiring and foundry equipment (module Mold Tooling) and complex plastic parts. Unlike other CAD-systems based on the principles of direct editing synchronous technology included in Solid Edge allows to combine the flexibility of direct modeling with the ability to control the current amendments which is characteristic of modeling on the basis of constraints (relations). The system makes editing parts eliminating the need for decoding of wood construction built the traditional method. Changes can be made not afraid to break the given geometric constraints.
3D-models in Solid Edge can be created without pre-planning strategies for their establishment. Using the tools of direct editing function type "drop" you can create models with virtually no support complex commands and apply different simulation scenarios regardless of the method of creating the model. All the tools are applicable to the Solid Edge data imported from other CAD systems just as it does to its own models while in the editing saved the most important geometric relationships. Users can edit geometry by selecting it or using the automatic selection of items when items such as bosses ribs or cutouts are automatically recognized. FEM analysis and structural analysis
In Solid Edge with Synchronous Technology 2 is implemented environment for numerical analysis of the FEM - Simulation. It is based on a numerical analysis package FEMAP. It uses the same principles and approaches to the pre-and post-processing computational model and solver NX Nastran. The application is supported by Solid Edge Simulation numerical analysis not only of parts and sheet metal and assemblies and the designer can specify different conditions of contact interaction of parts (and associated contact with a given sliding friction).
Drawings
Solid Edge provides a set of tools for creating drawings at any stage of the project. In Solid Edge you can create two types of drawing views: associative types of 3D-model and drawing views of independent 2D-model. Among the works to the drawings in Solid Edge with Synchronous Technology 2 is fully compatible with the standards ESKD. Solid Edge 2D Drafting (not in this distribution it can be downloaded independently from the Homepage) - solution for creating drawings analysis of various options of design decisions charting and dimensioning which can be applied across the enterprise and to perform 2D design of individual tasks. It's free including commercial use.
