Delcam FeatureCam 2012 R3 SP0 32bit & 64bit | 1.3 Gb FeatureCAM, developed by Delcam, is a suite of CAD/CAM software which combines cutting edge technology with ease of use, automates machining and minimizes programming times for parts on mills, lathes and wire EDM.
Delcam's History In 1965 Donald Welbourn, Director in Industrial Co-operation at Cambridge University, had the vision to see the possibility of using computers to assist pattern makers to solve the problems of modeling difficult 3D shapes. Today we take for granted 3D modeling, in 1965 only crude 2D drawing systems were available using terminals linked to large main frame computers. Initial work was sponsored by the Science Research Council but finding money to support the development was a constant problem for Donald Welbourn. In 1973 Donald persuaded his friend Lord Caldecote, then chairman of the Delta Metal Group and an ex-Cambridge engineer, to send Delta graduate engineer Ed Lambourne to work on the development of DUCT at Cambridge University Engineering Department, ultimately leading to transferal of the system into industry. In 1974 Donald also obtained sponsorship from Control Data in Europe in the form of access to their powerful time-sharing computing resources. Control Data offered DUCT initially on its time-sharing bureau service, especially to two of its largest German customers Volkswagen and Daimler Benz..... About FeatureCAM FeatureCAM is an easy-to-use CAM system that is so intuitive that even a novice or occassional user can quickly create reliable and consistent toolpaths. You can create toolpaths directly from solids using FeatureRECOGNITION. All your machines can be programmed within a single user interface specifically designed to achieve shorter programming times by Featurebased operations. What's fixed in Delcam FeatureCam 2012 R3 SP0: User Interface: Need Browser pages in DFS MTT: Turnmilling: Face mill tool with corner radius gouges profile VERICUT: Sometimes macro shows macro runtime error when switching between documents. NCSIMUL: Desire to export tool radius as tool radius compensation and overall tool length as tool length compensation. NCSIMUL: Desire remembering the preset UI options, so that the user doesn't need to set them every time addins is loaded. NCSIMUL: Some toolholders appears in NCSimul like tiny needles. 2 axis milling: unable to create radial index pattern if initial feature is aligned to the setup Z axis. 2-axis milling: Face feature only allows a spiral cut, there also needs to be a zig zag or parallel option for better control and tool path. 32-bit File open: x64 installs of *_VS10 (without visual studio 2010 being installed already) can't open 32-bit files. User interface: face feature attributes, "Connect Stepovers with Arc" parameter is mislabeled "Tool Axis" API: Some macros crash and/or hang featurecam when running a wire part. d sim: Turnmill: Wrong orientation of axis in 3d simulation whereas centerline simulation shown properly. User interface: File->Send within x64 FeatureCAM dosent work properly Turn: Offset roughing toolpaths do not honor different X and Z finish allowance XBUILD: and reserved words are not getting translated in segment start Testing: DFS: Add SolidWorks version number to the report. tools: FC locks up exporting turning tools with solid holders as .xml file. Network Database: the operation type field is not remembered for lathe tools. User Interface: New setup picture covers up part of the words with some screen resolutions. Installation: Sentinel: There is a new version of Sentinel Protection Installer available. Turn/Mill: 3-axis milling: Z rapid plane calculation does not work when B != 90 when using X tools 3-axis milling: 4-axis indexing: Issue with B axis angle beyond 90 degrees UI: Need to change the text for 'Depth' checkbox in the end mill tool properties (overrides tab) dialog. Translators want to enter a unique translation. print: background of printing should be optionally white. Installation: 64-bit FeatureCAM installer installs older version of Sentinel driver. 3d sim: Performance Problem with custom Tool holders. Tooling: tool properties: XML comments separated by newline shown in a single line after export & reimport. FC-PMP: FIXTURE-ID used in FC is unable to output using .pmopt file 2-axis milling: NT: Support total stock for bosses and pockets. 3d sim.: Ability to save 3d simulations results as stl similar to FC. 3d sim: 3d sim doesn't show the tool perpendicular to the tool axis. User interface: tool database: Special characters not represented in exported tool crib. Turn: tpedit: turn groove on the ID flips tool direction/orientation if post supports B-axis. TPEDIT: weird behaviour of reflecting the toolpath feature. Import: Catiav5: Solids seem to be linked to a file called tmp.sat instead of *.catpart API: Code/comment operation macro doesn't output the code M00. 2-axis milling: FC does not consider code comment text feature after groove feature in nc codes. User interface: Diameter offset register field length in the Overrides tab of Tool properties dialog isn't enough to represent 9-digits number that is supported now. Tool mapping: FeatureCAM shows an error and closes itself if Diameter offset register in tool properties overrides dialog are filled by 9 digit number and tool mapping dialog is tried to open. Turn: Difference in cut direction between simulation and NC Code 2-axis milling: Select holes of the same diameter. urn: MTT: Simulation: The new "Use soft errors" is not working in a multi-turret post. I.e. it shows you no sim, and no error with a tool selection error. (a hard err i presume?) API: FC process does not exit after using Application_UserAttributeChanged event in a macro. probe: need license support for probing. Machine sim: Need a way to "clear" a machine sim model without losing UCSs, solid names, and solid colors. User interface: Simulation toolbar: "Play to *" button is missing from the toolbar. We get a black spot instead. VERICUT: Desire ability to use an existing solid in the file as a part solid. VERICUT: Desire ability to have solids in the part selected to be used as clamps to be checked in the interface Clamps list. 3d sim: Turn: Solid Holder orientation not correct for back face. API: sim_only flag not honored if angle is passed as argument VERICUT: Macro shouldn't check out license.
