Ubuntu 12.04 LTS [i386, amd64] DVD | 3,1 Gb

Ubuntu 12.04 "Precise Pangolin" - the new version is assigned the status of LTS release, long-term support. Time release updates for both desktop version, and for the server option of five years (in past LTS-releases of desktop editors maintained for three years). Of the five first two years of additional updates will be issued to support the implementation of new equipment, after which the remaining three years will go only to upgrade to fix critical bugs and security issues.

Since the new version of the Release refers to the long-term support, focused on ensuring stability and development tools to simplify the use of distribution in a corporate environment. Nevertheless, despite the general conservatism of the issue and the lack of breakthrough innovations (for example, because LTS-status was postponed experiments to introduce Wayland), the new version has not been without significant improvements, especially noticeable in the convenience of the user in the shell Unity, as well as the development of means to ensure high reliability (mission-critical), and deployment / maintenance of large parks, the real and virtual systems in a server version. Much effort was spent on making Ubuntu 12.04 a mature platform for deploying cloud-based systems Openstack.
